My original Vox op

February 27, 2013

If you could be any cartoon character which would you prefer? This was my introductory question of which I asked about 10-12 students here at Winthrop what cartoon character they would prefer based on their preference. Some took seconds to ponder their favorite character, some talked about cartoons that were similar to them as children others just reflected on some of their favorite television shows growing up. I really enjoyed working on this project because it gave me a perspective to figure out what type of cartoon characters they often admired from when they grew up.

Taking stuff out of someone’s  animals abdomen
Two different lives nice guy.

When he is a marine and in his uniform he feels as though he is very authoritative, tough luck

When he is a surgeon, he is very patient relax and intriguing very involved with his and the process of performing the surgeries

He joined the Marines Corps Reserves at the age of 17, he has also been deployed twice but is very happy that is family have been there to support him.

Always wanted to be a veterinarian and doctor.

He liked to get messy and wanted to become a veterinarian since he was in the kindergarten.

He is also thrilled that his family is there to support him fully with his decisions to stay in the Marines and be also a doctor although they were hesitant when he first started off.

Opinion
Personally, I feel as though this was a good multimedia story which I found on Youtube. I was able to understand why he enjoys being in the service and also becoming a doctor. He seems to be a headstrong guy, with morals and values and he is one to follow his dreams.

I dislike the fact that he shows some of the actual footage of the animals that he is working on and he describes how he had to remove the abdomen of an animal.

I also enjoy the fact that he is loves being around his family a lot.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. throughout History

All around the world, people of different races and ethnicities came together yet again to celebrate and honor the memory and hard work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
His dream for equality and justice for all man-kind changed the world and today’s future, whereas people today especially minority people have opportunities to work, eat in public restaurants and have the chance of freedom and justice.

Winthrop Campus celebrated Dr. King’s work ethic by hosting a MLK Community Day of Service and a Gospel Concert sponsored by Winthrop’s Association of Ebonites.

On January 20, 2013 one day before MLK Day AOE hosted a gospel Concert that reflected on many ideas about the Civil Rights Movement.

The program that was held on Sunday, January 20 was a celebration of
the life and legacy of Dr. King.  The program was outlined to give
some trials and triumph in black history before, during and after Dr.
MLK Jr.'s life,” she said.

“The purpose of the program was to give the audience
and especially the African-American audience a sense of pride,
integrity and encourage in some older hymnals and songs surrounding
slavery and civil rights,” said Kerin Gibson president of AOE.
